Wanderlust: A Peer Gynt Hotel Experience

For educational use only.

A Peer Gynt-inspired immersive hotel experience, where guests will experience the world of Peer Gynt through the eyes of Peer Gynt himself. Elegant, mystical, and practical, the experience is revealed at night, as guests come face to face with the eccentric characters and landscapes of Henrik Ibsen.

The Rooms: SketchUp & V-Ray

For the hotel part of the experience, guests will have different room options to stay in. There will be different levels and prices with the Åse suite being a double room, Solveig’s room is a Junior Suite, the Greenclad Woman’s room being the Honeymoon Suite, and Ingrid’s room being the bridal suite. Thus Åse’s suite is the least expensive and will get progressively more expensive till Ingrid’s room. This is a nod to the socioeconomic status of each character. Each room is a reference to how the guests are Peer Gynt, and thus throughout the entire story constantly use women. Different chapters of his life depend on the woman he is staying with at the time. Interesting to make the audience “use” the women just like Peer Gynt, admiring their beauty/objectifying them. This allows us to tell their stories in a way that the source material didn’t elaborate on.
